I’ve always been a big fan of television channels like Discovery, Animal Planet, etc., but over the past few years on-line games have taken over much of the entertainment needs of our household and I haven’t watched as much as I used to.
This weekend I hit a point where I wanted truly passive entertainment so I went upstairs to watch television. Flipping through channels I noticed the National Geographic Channel and stopped there. I watched what was showing with a mixture of fascination and disgust. They were doing a dissection/autopsy on a giraffe. A giraffe at a zoo died suddenly and they wanted to know why. They took the opportunity to film the dissection. I like to know about animals, but I’m not sure that I want to know that much. The show was interesting, but I watched some of with my eyes closed. Barf.
