Christmas Cards

It’s been a horrible year for Christmas cards.  I dreaded sending them out.  What do you say to the Aunt whose husband has descended into violent dementia?  What do you write to the guy who just had to put his much-loved wife into long-term care because he can no longer manager to care for her himself?  What can you say to the person just diagnosed with cancer?  It was like nails on a chalkboard.  It was a relief when I mailed them out.

  1. Its hard coming up with the right words to say when someone has recently gone through or is presently going through such sad and trying times. I’m happy for you that they are mailed out.

  2. Oh gee. I guess I am lazy. I write a “generic” newsletter with updates on me and the kids and animals (of course) and send taht in with the Christmas card. i susally send out about 60 cards, and each year i get back fewer and fewer. I think this year I only got maybe 15.
